ARI (Autorização de Residência para Investimento), internationally known as Golden Visa, is regulated by Article 90-A of the Portuguese Foreigners Act. AIMA has now made ARI permit renewal available on the Renewals Portal, allowing holders to renew their permit 100% online, without in-person attendance.
1. Where to Renew ARI
The AIMA Renewals Portal is available at:

Portal Access
The Renewals Portal is only accessible from within Portugal. ARI renewal is rolled out in phases according to the permit's expiry date. Check the portal page to see if your permit is eligible for online renewal.
2. Renewal Procedure
Portal Registration
Create an account with email, Residence Permit (TR) number, tax ID (NIF) and date of birth.
Submit Request
Review and confirm personal details and submit the renewal request.
Payment
After the payment slip (DUC) is issued, pay within 24 hours.
Receipt
Receive a digital receipt confirming that the request has been submitted and processing has started.
NISS and Address Up to Date
To complete the process successfully you need an up-to-date NISS (Social Security number) and address in AIMA records. Data updates must be made via the Contact Form at contactenos.aima.gov.pt/contact-form before or during the process.
Payment Slip (DUC)
The payment slip (DUC) is issued by the portal after submitting the request. Payment must be made within 24 hours for the request to proceed. After payment, you receive a receipt confirming that processing has started.
