Remote employee
Employed by a U.S. company with a letter confirming approval to work from Portugal.
Business owner or freelancer
U.S. registered entity with invoices. Certificate of incorporation, LLC, pass-through entity, letter from bookkeeping.
Income threshold
Net monthly income ≥ €3,680 over the last 3 months.
FBI background check
Certificate issued within the past 3 months and apostilled. No convictions in Portugal punishable by over one year.
Sustenance funds
Last 3 bank statements showing income deposits and a positive balance over €3,680.
Family accompany
Spouse and dependent children may join the main applicant.
